The moment you get a brand new PC, it’s a downward spiral for its performance. After a while, the computer that used to be like a cheetah will feel more like a sloth, and there are several reasons for that: too many applications run at startup, something is hogging system resources or there are Windows Registry problems that lead to crashes and lost performance. The RegClean application is here to help you with the later problem. It is a Registry cleaner that will identify and address Registry problems.

Since you want to get the most performance out of your computer, it means that you don’t like to waste time. With that in mind, you will be glad to know that you will not have to wait long for the RegClean download to complete since it’s a very lightweight 1.5MB. Going through the setup wizard to install RegClean will take very little time as well.

RegClean seems eager to help you not waste time; it seems eager to start doing its job. The big, green “Start Scan” button invites you to start a Registry scan as soon as you launch RegClean. Once the scan is complete, RegClean will present you with a list of problems it found. With a simple click on the “Repair Selected” button, you can fix all the problems RegClean finds and you can thus improve your computer’s performance.

When you mess with the Windows Registry, there is always a chance that something could go wrong. RegClean addresses this risk factor by creating a Registry backup. Should anything go wrong, you can restore your entire Registry to an earlier time.

Besides finding and addressing Registry problems and defragmenting and compressing the Registry, RegClean does something else: it presents a list of applications that automatically run at startup. As I mentioned above, having too many applications run at startup can negatively impact your computer’s performance. From RegClean’s interface you can view which applications do that and you can disable the applications that don’t need to run at startup.

The trial version of RegClean only identifies Registry problems, it does not address them. A licensed version of the application is required to address those Registry issues.

RegClean provides a simple means of improving computer performance: it scans for and addresses Windows Registry problems.

Pros

You will spend little time downloading and installing RegClean. The application’s interface is very easy to use and quite good looking. Scans for and addresses Registry problems, defragments and compresses the Registry and creates a Registry backup, should anything go wrong. RegClean also displays a list of applications that run at startup.

Cons

The trial version only detects, it does not address Registry problems.
